The Motor Vessel Dali owned by Grace Ocean, chartered Maersk and managed by Singapore based Synergy Ship Management Pvt Ltd was plowed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge at 1.26 am shortly after departing from the port of Baltimore. The ship was under command of pilot at the time. The bridge was completely demolished in the accident throwing 9 passengers and around 20 workers on the bridge into the freezing water. Search and Rescue is still going on. The ship reported to 'MD Department of Transportation (MDOT)' that they lost control over propulsion seconds before the accident and there is a chance of allision with the bridge neglecting all possibilities of intentional or act of terrorism.
